About the author and illustrator: Rachael Long is a UC ANR Cooperative Extension Advisor, Emeritus, and a graduate of UC Berkeley and UC Davis, with an MSc in Biology. She currently lives on a farm in Northern California. Nanding Ross is a Research Assistant with UCCE and a graduate of Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo, California. She currently lives in Lisbon, Portugal.
